1982-2003
Gerardo Colunga, Jr. was an exemplary brother of the Xi Omicron Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi and the pride of the Phi pledge class. “G”, as we all knew him, was the epitome of what a brother should be, giving 100% to his family, friends, internship, work, UTSA, the Hispanic Student Association and Alpha Kappa Psi. When Gerardo Passed away on November 23, 2003 the Brotherhood wanted to ensure that G’s spirit would remain eternal. The Gerardo Colunga, Jr. Scholarship was founded through the Alpha Kappa Psi Foundation to honor him for all of his triumphs and contributions to the Xi Omicron Chapter and the University. The recipient of the Gerardo Colunga, Jr. Scholarship will be given to a brother who follows the path of leadership, education, and the pursuit of entrepreneurship set forth by Gerardo. To say the least, Gerardo Colunga, Jr. has inspired productivity and integrity, and his leadership is exemplified through the success of this chapter and more directly, through the Brotherhood.
